look at them smiling, look at how they love their life, back then in the ocean. dolphin’s smile is a manipulative one, because with that happy-smiling face, people wouldn’t notice that they actually could get hurt.
and dolphins do get hurt. when people put walls and concretes and glass to restrain them from swimming 25 miles a day.
when people kept them in captivity, train them to do tricks and live shows.
when people kill them only for fun (or tradition), like what they did in Taiji, Japan.
when people separate them from their colonies and babies
dolphins are amongst the most exploited wild animals. they are used for entertainment in circuses, dolphinariums, and world-known Sea World. whatever reasons behind dolphin captivity, it’s still a very, very bad idea. dolphins are intelligent mammal, they get stressed out easily. living in a captivity means they couldn’t swim as far as they used to, about 40 miles a day. they produce sonar sound, and when they live in a man-made pool, this sonar goes back to them (reflected by the walls of pool) and it hurts them. watch The Cove for more information about dolphin.
stop treating them like they are just commodities. dolphins, just like any other animal, are our fellow earthlings. we live with them, we should be more respectful to their rights… protect them.
